Emily Gideon is a passionate scholar-practitioner in the field of clinical psychology who divides her time between clinical practice, training and consulting, and scholarly writing and research. In her clinical practice, she delivers cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based treatments to adult and adolescent clients with a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and adjustment problems, such as anxiety, stress, depression, and relationship problems. In her consulting work, she provides workshops, seminars, and webinars on mental health sensitization and awareness creation as well regularly featuring on Radio Citizen and radio Milele FM to respond to mental health issues and create awareness. She is among the road safety actors in Kenya providing leadership in road safety via mental health promotion services among the PSV owners, SACCOS, Transport companies and the entire crew.
In her practice, she is eager to apply her experience and compassion to clients as they begin to address issues that will help them improve their quality of life and attain a sense of fulfilment.
Emily received her Bachelors of Psychology with 1st class Honors from Egerton University, MA Gender and Development studies and MA Clinical Psychology- finalist from USIU. She completed her clinical psychology internship at Kenyatta National Hospital.
Within the last 5 years Emily has worked as a lead mental health consultant in Psychoafrica and carried out different consultancy work;
